Stephen Halliday

Steve started his professional acting career with local theatre companies the Live Theatre, Northern Stage and Northumberland Theatre Company in Newcastle. He then went on to perform in professional plays and musicals around the UK and Europe including the London Palladium and Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. Steve then turned to singing with boy band Cryin Out Loud and found himself performing live on national television in front of 10 million people on the Jonathan Ross Big Big Talent Show. He also supported Rod Stewart as a backing singer at St James Park, the home of Newcastle United Football Club.

 With over 20 years professional singing experience Steve Halliday now spends his time performimg his Rat Pack show  ‘The Voice of Swing’.  Steve is a born entertainer who has performed at all types of parties and venues throughout the UK and Europe. From the Royal Yacht Britannia to live on television on the Jonathan Ross Big Big Talent Show, he’s done it all. Singing classic hit songs from the cool and glamorous era of the Rat Pack.  Steve covers artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Bobby Darren, Nat King Cole and Matt Monroe as well as songs by more recent artists Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr and Robbie Williams

 Steve’s theatre credits include: The Dolly Mixtures Musical,  the Customs House, Manifesto, Northern Stage, The Fifteen Streets, Theatre Royal Newcastle, The Gambling Man and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Newcastle Playhouse, Hansel and Gretel, Tyne Theatre,  The Grass House, Live Theatre, Time Windows, Sleeping Beauty and These Things Do Happen, NTC Touring, Myths and Legends, Down to Earth Theatre Company and Theatre of Dreams- The Matt Busby Story, Big Red Musical/Bridgewater Hall Manchester. More recently Steve can be seen in Ken Loach’s new award-winning film I, Daniel Blake.

TV and Film credits include:  Vera, George Gently, Wire in the Blood, Tracy Beaker, 55 Degrees North, Byker Grove, Madman in a Lifeboat, the feature film Goal, Darwin’s Secret (soon to be on BBC) and most recently Ken Loach’s feature film, I Daniel Blake.   

Steve has also been seen in commercials for Newcastle Brown Ale and Carling.
